Alison Sharpe

Ally is driven by a belief in the power of authentic stories – well told – to teach, inspire and mobilise change. She is an experienced and values-driven strategic marketing and thought leadership professional with over twenty-five years’ experience working in and for a variety of leading professional services firms. Having worked in-house for two of the ‘Big Four’ firms, today Ally works as a consultant advising a range of clients, including top-20 global law firms, accountancy firms and management consultancies.

Having been part of the Man Bites Dog pack for five years, Ally is a key member of the management team and is responsible for the consultancy’s professional services practice. She specialises in building strategic positioning and thought leadership platforms to unlock marketing and business development success for her clients. Ally has championed a range of award-winning global campaigns across a variety of sectors, on subjects from accelerating net zero and digitisation through to supercharging e-mobility and redefining the purpose of the accountancy profession.

Before her role at Man Bites Dog, Ally was a Corporate Affairs Director at PwC, responsible for championing the firm’s trust agenda in the wake of the global financial crisis. This led to her involvement in The Business of Trust initiative - a City of London Corporation programme led by the then Lord Mayor of London - as a member of the Trust Advisory Group.

In earlier years, Ally led PwC’s Media Relations and Thought Leadership teams and enjoyed a brief secondment to Demos, one of Britain’s leading cross-party think tanks. Before PwC, Ally held a European Communications role at Deloitte, prior to which she managed its UK press office. Ally began her career in Public Affairs at the RSPB, Europe’s largest wildlife conservation charity, and followed this with a period at an issues-based communications consultancy.

Ally has professional qualifications in research and marketing, in addition to being an RSA Fellow and a member of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Ally has a BA in Business Studies from the University of Northumbria, where she specialised in marketing.
